Note: • You will not need to register with the MathWorks or download anything from their web site. • You will not need to update the annual license file, this is handled on the server. • Running MATLAB this way requires that you maintain network connectivity, and requires use of the if you are off the MIT campus. Switching an existing installation to get licenses from the Central (Athena) License Server If you have machines where MATLAB is already installed and you want to get licenses from the Central License Server, you don't need to perform the installation steps below. You just need to change the license file contents to. The license server is backwards-compatible with older MATLAB releases as well as the current release. The default location and name for the network MATLAB license file for all users in R2017b is: • Windows. On Windows versions prior to 10 use or other unzip utility that can unzip large files. Dialog, select the components you want but make sure License Manager at the top is deselected, then click Next. • At the Provide license file location dialog, enter the path to where you've copied this locally (ending with.license.dat), click Next. • At the Select desired installation options, set your preferences and click Next. • At the confirmation dialog, review your selections (make sure the required disk space is free) and click Install. • After installation completes, note the information on the Your installation may require.
